The flood which affected Kerala was a shocking disaster that stumbles all of our hearts even now. Massive floods across Kerala have killed more than 350 people and displaced more than 800,000. Over 2 million people are displaced from their homes to relief camps. The members of Prahladaa trust were desperate to hear this news and always wanted to lend our hands to help the affected people. Even though our locality was not affected, we needed to help the people at the affected area. Our response in the aftermath of the disaster is geared towards immediate relief in the first phase, rehabilitation in the second phase, and reconstruction in the third and final phase. We thought of scaling down distribution of relief materials to the relief camps and flood affected areas. Hence, we came up with the plan to start a collection point at our locality and collect as much possible relief items such as food, clothes, first aid items etc.
